Okay. So I am a Freshman in high school right now. We are about to get out and start the summer. We are about half way through the second semester. I have been currently talking to my mom about online high school. When we went out at lunch a few days ago she brought up the subject (I did not) about home-schooling me. Not like being with me and home-schooling me, but getting me with this program we have here in Washington called Insight School of Washington. It is a free online high school. They send you a free laptop, a free printer, ink cartridges for the printer, textbooks, etc. Of course, I will have to give this all back when I am done with school. But, they also pay part of your Internet bill because it requires wireless Internet, which we already have. Anyways, sorry if I am rambling on. But, I think it sounds like a good idea. I get distracted in public school anyways and I love to work independently and this sounds almost too good to be true. The online school also has a lot more choices for courses than public high school. Anyways, I have recently been researching about college. Like the cost of college and which college I would like to attend. I will not be living in Washington after I graduate high school. I do not like living here and plan on taking my life somewhere else. I had a deep passion about going to college in southern California, but I don’t really know anymore. I would love to attend college in Canada or Australia. Right now that is what I have my mind set to. I think my mom wants me to do a year of high school in another country. You know, the foreign exchange student program?? I thought that would be really cool! If I did that I would most likely want to do it in Australia. Then go to college in Canada. After I am done with college I am moving back to the US and going to live in the LA area with hopefully a great job. I want to major in Journalism. I love to write and I am really good at it. I want to be either a newspaper writer/journalist or a talk show host/radio host. That is my dream/goal in life. I am so excited! Anyways, I have a few questions…
1-How much do you think it would cost to do some college in Canada and would it be a hassle since I am a US citizen?
2-What is the foreign exchange student program and does it cost money? Who do you live with when you are in the different country doing school?
3-What University for Journalism/Mass Communications do you recommend in Canada? America?
4-Can I still receive scholarships and grants if I attend a college outside of the US?
5-How hard is it really to get your own talk show or radio show?

P.S. I know this is in the wrong category, but I got no answers anywhere else. So, please help me.

The bank opens in 45mins, I’m going in to raise all hell but I need some answers first so I can be 100% accurate with my arguements. My fiance knows me.. and doesn’t want me to make a “scene” (I dont really, I just give an attitude) so I’m asking here — Do I have a right to raise all hell?

Heres what happened..

First a little background (wont take long). My fiance has been at that bank for 10 years. In the last year they have “accidently” deposited my fiance’s paycheck into his fathers account (they have the same name). Everytime this has happened, they have charged us overdraft fees. They fix it, but I’m still upset because this should NOT happen when my fiance and his father BOTH use their bank acount # to deposit or withdrawl, and the #’s are different.

Ok, yesterday my fiance went into the bank and wrote our his deposit slip. The clerk took his check and gave him back a yellow slip saying we had X amount in our bank. We go out and pay some bills, than today I checked our online banking and it said we had $211 in overdraft fee’s because the clerk DID NOT DEPOSIT our check!

Next thing.. Is it legal for banks to charge you an overdraft fee for a PRE-AUTH going thru? Example:: We had $100 in the bank (more I think, but whatever). Our tire went flat so we went to walmart and bought a $40 used tired. THe bank still had $60 in it. Several days later (1 day before I got paid) we used that $60 for groceries and gas. Than, a company which was not supposed to charge us for another 3 days, charged us – which made our bank go negative. When the tire pre-auth went thru, it gave us ANOTHER overdraft fee.

Now — Can I have them refund that overdraft fee? Since it was paid in full, and only got an overdraft fee because of the pre-auth?

And do I have a valid arguement? Cuz I’m trying to plan my wedding and this crap just set me back a week or 2.. I’m furious
I plan on changing banks today. But I just wanted to be sure I can 1. Get back the pre-auth overdraft fees (which I feel are unfair) and 2. Make SURE they have it right this time, because too many times have they cheated us out of anywhere from $20-$100 at a time. Its bull. NEVER BANK AT A PINNACLE!
