The Making Money Experiment - 1st Anniversary!

Today is the first of October 2008 and me and my blog are officially celebrating our first anniversary! Time passed by amazingly fast the last year and I’ve learned many things and achieved many goals on my way through the online business and blogging world.

I started TMME as a simple blog hosted on the free blogging service called Blogger.com and in these days had nothing, no money, no knowledge, simply nothing that would have helped me in starting a “making money online” career. But I started to fight and set me a goal, namely to make me $100 within the first 6 months. A goal that I achieved as I later found out…

Slowly, very slowly, my blog matured. I wrote several posts, joined many money making programs, got several new friends and somehow became a bit “popular” in the money making branch. The traffic to my blog slowly rose and my earnings too.

In the beginning I barely made 20 bucks a month from my work with PTC sites, article writing, sponsored reviews and whatsoever. Today I’m making nearly 30 times of that and I’m still working on bringing in more money month after month. The one thing I learned is to stick with your goals. You can achieve everything in the world if you only work for it hard enough, just like I did (or I’m still about to)!

I had lots of ups and downs with TMME in the last 12 months, but one thing never changed, the loyality of my readers and the support of my friends and family. Without you I’d never had come that far and I will therefore give you a big THANK YOU!

And because I feel so lucky and appreciate all the feedback of my readers, I WILL GIVE AWAY A TOTAL OF $100, namely the amount I set myself as the first goal in my early money making days! All you have to do in order to have the chance to get some of the money, is to leave a honest comment (minimum 100 words, no spam or useless blah-blah, grammar doesn’t matter ;) ) on this post where you share your feels and experiences you made with The Making Money Experiment in the last 12 months.

An Online Randomizer will choose 5 random winners who will win the following cash prizes:

  • 1st prize: $50
  • 2nd prize: $30
  • 3rd prize: $10
  • 4th and 5th prize: $5

Winners will be paid via Paypal, so make sure to provide your Paypal email address for payments! The winners will be known by the thursday 8:00 pm (CET) and paid immediately afterwards!

Good luck to you all and now let’s grab some beers and let us celebrate the 1st Anniversary of The Making Money Experiment (and the new design btw) CHEERS!!! :)

See you tomorrow,
Querblogger

PS: The final 12th months report with a retrospect of the first year of TMME will follow soon. Stay tuned!

    Hey buddy! It seems that I’m the first one to post a comment to this article. And because so it happens, I’d also like to be the first to congratulate you for reaching all your goals and becoming one of the persons who are making money online. True, you can’t call it a leaving yet, but I’m sure nothing will stop you for getting there one day ( and I wish you for this day to come soon ;) ). What else can I say more? Oh yeah, how could I missed that: Happy anniversary! May your blog last as long as you wish and may you keep on making money 100 years from now, too :D

    Now, let’s get down to some serious stuff: the beers. Open’em and let’s start the party!

    Your old buddy,
    Tiberius

    PS: Have you noticed any problems with your websites, yesterday? There were some problems over at NameCheap, with their DNS servers. My personal blog was down ( actually, unreachable via its TLD domain ) for a couple of hours, while my niche site and the MMO blog weren’t having any DNS related issues..

    Hello you!

    Well i just read your blog about your 1th Anniversary and want to congratz you!

    If you remember me, you helped me out with my doubts of bux.to… (well… i invested 200 € and got there 790$§ but haven´t seen anything of it, but that was like poker! and i think i lost… well, doesn´t matter)

    You helped me a lot to get along with my doubts, and now i am at neobux under your referal-link :P

    It was at least the only thing i could do to give a little bit back to you :P

    I got 260 rented refs there and i have an income of about 5 $ a day. Well not that much, but when time comes, refs will come too!

    I´m very glad to see that this internet money making sites work (at least a few of them) but i got the plan, after i finished school with my “ABI” to finance my studies ! Yes, i am planning not to go to work for 400 bucks a month -.- I just have to hit the 30$ mark at neobux :) :)

    I want to thank you one more time for guiding me through my time of doubts!

    I think, everyone who reads your articles will spend some money for his financial indepentend !

    Greetings from the deep south off Bavaria!

    MfG Stefan

    And here the are, my loyal reader! :)

    I want to thank you all for your kind words and I really hope that all of you may win some bucks too, chance are quite good right now… ;)

    @Tiberius:

    Another 100 years, well that would be quite difficult, hehe. But I promise to do my best! Are 90 years enough? :)

    Btw, I had not a single DNS problem yesterday. All of my sites werde doing just fine.

    @Stefan:

    Nice to hear from you again Stefan, although I confess myself guilty because I’ve overly promoted Bux.to to you and it turned out they don’t pay at all. Fortunately you’ve joined NeoBux to make your loss back and trust me, it won’t take that long to make $30 a day, hehe. :)

    Btw, greetings from the deep southwest of Saxony! ;)

    @King Joel:

    Thanks for your kind words Adam. Hey, you remind me of Yuwie, one of the first money making programs I joined! How are you doing there, are you making money with them?

    @Harshad:

    Thank you very much. I think you hit the nail right on the head. Somehow “If I can do this , so can you” is kind of my philosophy, hehe! ;)

    90 years are ok too, not a problem. Good to hear you had no problems with your sites and domains..must have been something temporarily. Now everything’s fine. My personal blog is online again ;) Oh, and by the way: I have posted a new article there..if you have some time, drop by and read it ( if you wish, you can also leave a comment ).

    Cheers,
    Tiberius

    PS: Please do me a favor: I have 3 125×125 ads placed on my blog ( you’ll see them when you’ll visit my personal blog ). The first one from left to right is a SpeedyAds ad, the second ( located in the middle ) is an AdFlip ad and the 3rd ( on the right ) is a Bidvertiser ad..Now, sometimes, the Bidv. ad is not showing up..What I want from is to go to my blog and see if you can view that ad correctly..I think it might be a glitch in my template, which is preventing the ad to be shown properly. Thanks!

    Hi!

    I’ve actually just started my yuwie account, so I don’t really know how much I’ve made @_@.

    I would like to ask though how your Yuwie account is?

    I kind of realized that you have to be nothing short of famous if you want to make a good amount of money there…

    @All:

    Only about one hour left and I will announce the winners of my little birthday “contest”! ;)

    @King Joel:

    I have given up on Yuwie long time ago, but not because they don’t pay or something like that. I actually didn’t have the time to promote my profile there and keep my Yuwie blog updated. But I know of some people who are actually making some nice extra bucks each month. Feel free to visit Yuwiescam.com, it’s a site from Oldbudyy, the person who referred me to Yuwie. He shows his monthly earnings and gives some nice tips on getting referrals and such!

    @Mahesh:

    Thanks for your nice words! I’m pleased to see people are actually following my advise!

    I can only give my opinion on one of your mentioned sites since I’m not much involved in the whole PTC business anymore (ok, besides NeoBux). I’ve personally used Sharebux, but mainly for advertising purposes because they are quite cheap. I’ve haven’t any problems with them and I think they are honest. Sorry, but I can’t give you more information.
