My Homepages Friends – Update One

Yesterday I’ve written a post on how you get paid to search the internet. I joined a program called My Homepages Friends, which pays you up to $0.06 for each single search you do with help of their toolbar (well, basically it’s only a search plugin for your browser which redirects to their search page). At the moment they are using Google as their search “frontend”, so if you use Google anyway, it can only get better for you because you’ll now be paid for searching with Big G.

Anyway, now for my first stats after joining that site:

First of all, so far I’ve done only 17 searches with help of their toolbar. On the other site, those 17 searches could have made me my first dollar. Unfortunately my earnings haven’t updated yet. But there are reasons for this. Usually it takes up to 48 hours before your account balance updates. If there’s a weekend in between, it takes a little longer. I hope I’ll see some updates at the beginning of next week.

Second, I’ve already managed to get 4 friends (referrals) with help of my first post about My Search Funds. Much thanks for joining under me! My friends earnings (and therefore my personal revenue) will get updated a week after they have done their searches, so I have to wait even longer before announcing some more stats about it.

Well, that should be all for now. I keep you up to date with more information about MHFand I will also write a tutorial on getting referrals, so you can grow your referral tree and make some good cash too! If you’re interested in joining this site, feel free to use my referral link and become my friend!

Bye bye

I used to believe it pays but what happened with me lately, I have doubts if it really pays! I have already earned enough (more than 10 ponds) to be qualified for a payout in My Homepages Friends. I was about to request payout when the figure has been reduced to
to 9.39. I contacted the MHF and responded that the reason why my earnings has been reduced was because I have made some searches that allegedly breached their terms and conditions which I really totally doubt because I am using the internet normally without any intention to artificially generate revenue. That can be explained by my very minimal searches. If I am using the browser with ill-intent to generate revenue then I should have been searching with their browser with hundred searches everyday! I only searched about 10 or a few more with the MHF browser everyday. I even search less than ten sometimes.

I did not respond to their email anymore and did not made much searches for about 4 days. I was made to understand then that 9.39 were my earnings for good searches. But to my surprise, after two days it was again reduced to 8.76! I was sending emails to demand explanations but I wonder why my email kept returning to me “not sent”. Then my earnings has reduced again to 8.70. Yesterday I made about 7 searches. I only earned .01! This incedible! I now think MHF is truly an honest program. With what happened, I now am entertaining the idea that this is a hoax – a scam unless they can convincingly explain to me what happened with my earnings or return my original earnings and post their payment to me.

    Hi Jim,

what I’ve personally observed the last days, was that many clicks were not credited in my account at all, although I’ve never seen a direct decrease in my account’s money. I know they have some strict rules regarding fraudulent clicks, but what you describe here sounds more like an error in their website script or database. I also do only around 10 searches a day, but I never had a single problem with them.

Please keep us updated on what’s going on with your account on MHF Jim! I would love to hear that everything is only a mistake made by them.

    See you,
    Querblogger

PS: As far as I know the minimum payout is set at 20 pounds, not 10 pounds like you mentioned first!
