Eighth Month Report!

Month number eight of my Making Money Experiment is over and my earnings have increased a lot compared to the last month. I have more than doubled my money in May.

This report shouldn’t be too long, because I don’t have too much time at the moment. But let me tell you in short about my best money makers for May 2008.

In May I made $192, that’s more than twice the amount of my April earnings ($75). I’m really happy with it, although I hope the numbers will rise in the future.

My Money Makers

My best money maker, like last month, was Bux.to. With help of 72 referrals and my own and almost daily clicking, I made $105 on Bux.to alone. Sure, that’s not the money I already have received in my bank account, but the payment should arrive soon. For now I would call it “theoretical” money… :)

I made $30 from my second affiliate sale. I already reported about it some days ago. Another 30 bucks came from a review I’ve written and published on my blog. Sorry I can’t reveal more details about it.

Also worth to mention is NeoBux, a fairly new PTC site I’ve joined. With help of 31 referrals I made $6.50 from it. Not much compared to Bux.to, but this is mainly because of many inactive referrals in my account.

$13.5 came from selling links on my blog. Although Google doesn’t really like that evil stuff, I think it’s a good way to make some extra cash, as long as the placed links are relevant to your niche.

Finally, around $5 came from contextual advertising with Speedyads. The rest of the money was made from my articles I have published long time ago on Triond.

Some Statistics

In May nearly 3,000 unique visitors came to my blog, most of them searching fro information about Bux.to and NeoBux. Within the last days my blog received around 120 visitors per day.

My blog still has a PageRank of 2 (thank you Google) and my Alexa ranking gets better and better. I now have a ranking of 191,411 with a weekly average of even 164,000!

Final Note

I’m very lucky with how my efforts worked out so far. While constantely working on my blog and other projects like Shrtnd.com for example, I already reap some fruits from it. I make some good money, although I’m not yet able to quit my day job (but I’m working on it). :)

If you too want to make money online, all you need is patience and some strictly set goals!

Cheers,

It’s definitely a good idea to start your own blog. Good luck with it! If you need help with some backlinks to start the ball rolling, let me know.

  3. Hey man,
    I just checked http://www.shrtnd.com

And also got through the terms. And the 3rd term caught my eye:

You can’t make a claim on any of your shortened URL’s. If we choose to close this service anytime in the future, all shortened links will be lost. But, don’t fear we are closing soon! On the contrary, we do our best to serve you all those shortened URL’s forever!

Now, don’t you think a term like that will work against you?

  4. Hi,

sorry for replying that late, but your comment was caught in my spam folder (I’m using the Akismet service for my blog), don’t know why?!

You may be right with saying that this term will work against our site. But I also don’t regret my descision to write it down, because it turned out that the whole URL shortening thing isn’t very profitable and I’m about to close this site soon and completely re-design it (more on this later in my blog when it’s ready to make public). So, at least I have warned the users of Shrtnd.com beforehand.

The main reason for shutting down the site, besides being non-profitable, is the huge amount of spammers that are actually using it. Nearly everday I have to check the shortened links for illegal URLs, like those to warez downloads and such. I would assume that 95% of all shortened links are used for spamming and illegal activities. So I really don’t mind shutting it down (but I’ll warn my users beforehand, so they have time to use another service for their links).

    Thanks for dropping by!

    See you,
