rssHugger - Promote Your RSS Feed

Today I´ll give you some information about a nice service called rssHugger that´ll help you in promoting your RSS feed for getting more visitors to your blog.

Yesterday my friend Midwest has already written a nice article about rssHugger, which remembered me to have a deeper look on this free service, because I´ve already heard about it some weeks ago but so far not realized how much it may help me in getting more visitors to my blog.

Basically rssHugger will help you getting more exposure to your blog or website. The whole thing works like a viral marketing campaign, everybody can submit their blog to a huge Feed directory, which is actively promoted from even those people that submit their blogs there. Sounds a bit confusing? No problem, I´ll tell you more.

You have to ways to submit your blog to the listings on rssHugger. The first one is the paid method, you pay $20 and your blog will stay in their directory for ten years (I think an affordable price). The second one is the free method, you write a short review on this service (like I do here ;) and you won´t have to pay a single fee. If you consider that most people will choose the free method for getting their Feed listed, there will be a huge promotion for this feed directory from all those reviews posted on different blogs worldwide. And this is what I mean with “viral marketing”, there´s an overall positive feedback, the more reviews rssHugger gets, the more exposure your very own blog gets, because of increasing traffic rates and popularity of this site.

There are also some other benfits for adding your blog to this directory are. For example you can build better deep-links to your articles which will help you in getting better rankings in search results. You also have the possibilty to get a ranking in their Top 100 page (which resets to zero every month for you to have better chances). You can increase your ranking by sending visitors to your personal profile page on rssHugger, so it would be a good idea to place a link to it somewhere on your blog.

All in all, I can definitely recommend rssHuger, especially because it´s free (if you post a review on your blog) and your blog will be listed for at least ten years. So, hug your feed and submit it!

    Hey Querblogger,

Nice article! I was just curious to know if by signing up to RSSHugger, your subscribers number has grown a bit? Because after I’ve signed up, the next day I’ve noticed an increase ( from 17 to 27 ). And I do believe that the increase is due to RSSHugger.

Btw, thanks for mentioning about me in the article;)

    Cheers,
    Midwest

    Hi,

I can´t say for sure if it helps me increasing my subscribers because I´m waiting for the next statistics from Feedburner (they are delayed one day). So far the number increased from 10 to 11 subscribers, lets see what happens within the next days.

But I see an overall increase in my traffic the last days, not only because of rssHugger, but also because I´ve joined different blog catalogs and it seems my new template works better in terms of search engine rankings (I´m getting more visitors from search engines).

Now I´ll read your article about the One Euro Wiki :)

    Bye,

    Hello,

Well, it’s not something to significant, but it’s a beginning, right? It would be really nice to see an increase in your readership’s numbers, and all this thanks to RSSHugger. But anyway, it’s a good service, no matter how much visitors it brought us;)

I’m glad to hear that you’re finally receiving some traffic, which is better than before. As you said, it seems that your optimisation tricks are paying off.

    Thanks for reading my article;)

    See ya,
    Midwest

    Hi Querblogger,

Yes, I believe that Google really “loves” me and he thought to give me a nice PR 0:) But that’s ok, I’ll wait for the next PR update and in the mean time I’d like to buy a domain name for my blog, so Google’s evilness is somehow good for me, ’cause my Page Rank would be reseted to zero anyway, when I would buy a domain name.

I know why Google reseted my blog’s PR to zero: because I’m trying to make some fair money with PayPerPost, and not with Google Adsense ( this probably hurts them )..Now, I’m the evil one..hehe.

    Regards,
    Midwest
