Google Adsense Ban Update

In my last post I mentioned that I mailed Google for giving me answers about why my Adsense account got deactivated. Today I received a response. And I must say, I´m not really happy with it. The answer was short and a bit “meaningless”, they said “…my account involves a risk to our Adwords customers…”. That´s all?! They didn´t gave me a single reason for the ban from their Adsense program.

I won´t go any deeper into the details here, I just want to point out that I´ll stay independent from Google Adsense anyway, because there are plenty of other blog monetizing services out there. But feel free to give me some comments, especially if you got banned too. I really would like to know if there were other people having the same “problems” with Google Adsense.

See you later!

Hello Querblogger. So, you got an answer from Google? To be honest, I didn’t thought that you’d receive a more clear answer either. This is one of the reasons why I haven’t emailed them, to ask why I got banned. I’m kinda sick of this ” you are a threat to our services/advertisers ” thing. I’ve heard it before, from other bloggers that got the same answers, so why to ask them, in the first place?
I really don’t care about AdSense. As you said, we have plenty other ways to monetize our blogs, so this shouldn’t be a problem;)
BTW, you knew that Google is now “hunting down” Pay Per Post, because they seem not to like them? So it happened with Text Link Ads, few weeks ago.
Now i wonder, what’s next? Will we be bitch-slapped for trying to earn some extra cash with our blogs, if we don’t use a service that Google likes? Just throwin’ in my 2 cents…

    Cheers,
    Midwest

    Hi Midwest,

you´re right, it was a waste of time to ask holy Google why I got banned. And yes, it seems they are “hunting down” many things lately. It all began with the Pagerank Downgrade from many money making blogs like Problogger, Johncow or Shoemoney.

Btw, nice article about Cafepress. Sounds really interesting (maybe we can come up with some nice slogans like “I got banned. You´re next!” and sell that stuff ;-)

    See you,

    Hey Querbogger,

You’re right about Google “hunting down” many companies lately. And I don’t know why would they want to pick on Pay Per Post ( except that they’re Google, the holy authority of the Internet )? Not that I’m a fan of this company, but just wondering..

Thanks for reading my article about Cafe Press. Yeah, we could be evil and start our own ” I got banned, you’re next ! ” online store;) We just need the clients and we may get rich:)

    Regards,
    Midwest

Just got banned by AdSense for making too much money on Feb 19, 2008. All websites that we had were generic business websites and everything was legal. Google Adsense’s email indicated a ‘bad business model’. Our translation is ‘We are paying you too much money’. Go figure. We had been up and running for over a year until our websites were getting noticed by Alexa.com and Google AdSense’s mysterious partners.

    Hey Joe,

this sounds scandalous in my opinion. But the most annyoing part is, that you won´t get any details on why you actually got banned. I´ve realized this by myself after asking Google for more details about my own ban.

It seems Google shows its muscles more often lately, but banning a website because of making too much money (or a “bad business model” as they call it) is a completely new fact that I never have heard of before.

I know that won´t help you at the moment and you probably have thought about it too, but it´s definitely a good idea to spread your income sources. You see how fast it can happen that you´ll lose everything.

I wish you good luck Joe, try to send Google a mail regarding your problems. Be friendly (even if it´s hard), maybe you have luck and get your account back :)

    Cheers,

It seems like the “I’ve been screwed by google” club just keeps growing and growing at an alarming rate. That is why I created the http://www.googlehorrorstories.net web site. It is a place where people can share their stories about how google screwed them over. It is my hope that this will effect positive change at Google.

Hey Querblogger! Have you tried WidgetBucks? I’ve been earning almost twice as much with WidgetBucks compared to AdSense. Plus, the ads are optimized for WordPress, Blogger, and even TypePad. Check out this WidgetBucks review for some more info.

    Hi Seth,

I’ve tested WidgetBucks several months ago, but unfortunately it didn’t work for my blog. But I have no doubt that it WILL work on other niche blogs and websites that promote certain products. On a pure money making blog, it seems very difficult to genrate revenue from WB.
